This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on stocktonstudios.co.uk, which is run by Napton Lettings Limited (company number 10751694). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information more generally.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, keep or read information on your device in other ways. The law treats them the same way, so this policy covers both.
2. What we do not use
We do not use advertising, remarketing or social media cookies or tracking pixels on this website.
3. Always on: needed for the website to work
The law allows these without your consent, because the website cannot work properly or securely without them.
| Name | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
stockton-studios-session | Us | Keeps your visit working from page to page, including the dates and details of a booking you are part way through | 2 hours after your last activity |
XSRF-TOKEN | Us | Protects our forms and booking pages from being misused by other websites | 2 hours after your last activity |
__stripe_mid | Stripe, on our checkout page | Fraud prevention: helps Stripe assess the risk of a payment | 1 year |
__stripe_sid | Stripe, on our checkout page | Fraud prevention, as above | 30 minutes |
m | Stripe, on its own domain (m.stripe.com), on our checkout page | Fraud detection for the payment | 2 years |
__cf_bm | Cloudflare | Tells real visitors apart from automated bots. Only set when Cloudflare is checking traffic | Ends after 30 minutes of inactivity |
cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Records that your browser passed a security check, so you are not asked again. Only set if a check was shown | Cloudflare does not publish a fixed length |
The Stripe items are only used on the checkout page, when you are paying for a booking.
4. Analytics
These help us count how the website is used, so that we can improve it. The law allows this kind of statistics without consent, as long as we tell you about it and you can turn it off easily, free of charge. A notice tells you about it when you first visit.
| Name | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Tells one visitor's visits apart from another's, so that we can count visitors | 2 years |
_ga_J868Y3P4M6 | Google Analytics | Keeps track of the current visit | 2 years |
ss-analytics (browser local storage, not a cookie) | Us | Remembers whether you have turned analytics off | Until you clear your browser's stored data |
Google Analytics is set up for statistics only: it is not linked to advertising, Google signals and ad personalisation are off, and the data is deleted after two months. The Privacy Policy has the detail.
5. Your choices
To turn analytics off, or back on, click "Cookie settings" at the foot of any page. When you turn it off, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted and Google Analytics no longer loads in that browser. Everything else on the website works as before.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the cookies that are always on, the booking pages will not work.
6. Other websites
If you follow a link to Airbnb, Booking.com or another website, that website's own cookie policy applies.
7. Changes to this policy
If we add any new cookies or tools, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before they are used.
